    Default TS2000 and PSK31

Hi all, first off this is my set up

    HRD 3.5 1832
    Kenwood TS-2000X
    ALC backed right down

The problem i am having is similar to the one described in this thread
    http://forums.ham-radio.ch/showthrea...hlight=shifted

When i TX psk data on a certain part of the waterfall, my replys seem to be on a slightly shifted part of the waterfall. This didnt happen with my 706 MII.

Has anybody experienced this problem on the Kenwoods ?
what are the best settings for the ts-2000

    Thank You

Don't know your name nor callsign?

Is your XIT or RIT enabled?

Also what are you using to connect your TS-2000 to your soundcard?

Also check the Program Options Dialog > QSO:General Tab to assure that your Transmit Offset Group box fader is positioned at the Center Zero Offset setting.

    Name is Tom
    RIT XIT not enabled
no interface just using the ACC port cabled into the AC97 laptop soundcard, and a seperate OPTO for PTT via seccondary serial port. I will have to check the zero offsett when i get home, but im assuming its zeroed since i havent changed any settings in HRD since the transition between the 706 and the TS2000

    Cheers

    FB Tom.

Perhaps one of the other actve Forum members will be able to help you. Those were my first thoughts, but as I don't have a TS-2000, my familiarity with the rig is limited to it's features and capabilities which are similar to the TS-480 rigs which I run here.

Just to update, it definitly is out 20hz all i did was adjust the transmit offset in DM780 by -20hz it seems to have done the trick. Is there any reason why this is the case, theres no hidden setting on the rig i need to enable or disable

    Cheers

Sounds like an inaccuracy with your soundcard clock, which is exactly what the transmit offset is designed for.

I haven't noticed this on my TS2000X, but then again I've not used it on PSK31 for a while now.

I'll have a go and see what happens with each of my soundcard systems.

    Tom,

In Build 1832 (and several recent predecessor builds) you can enable the soundcard calibration display, on the DM780 status line.

This may be enlightening as it will show you if your soundcard is on the mark or way off.

Do this by checking the "Show Sample rate in main status bar" checkbox, in the Program Options > Soundcard Tab dialog.

You may need to enable DM780's main status bar display. It's been so long since I've viewed a default installation of DM780 that I do not recollect if it is there by default. If not already visible, enable it by using DM780's Pulldown Menu: View > Status Bar.
