    Default Multiple rotors

    I have both HF & Az-El rotors (Yaesu G-1000DXA & G-5500).

Will HRD suport having both rotors set up at the same time?
    If so how?

I would like to have the HF stuff use the G-1000DXA and the Sat stuff use the AZEL G-5500 rotor.

    Any comments?

    Thanks,
    John

    Hello John,

the answers if yes, HRD Rotator can support multiple sessions of rotors as long as they all have there data interfaces I personnelly run 6 or 7 on a regular basis in the lab, the way at this time that Logbook knows which rotor is selected, is simply by looking at the selected session in HRD Rotator, the sessions tabs shows you all your available rotors and the selected one showing in the application main window is the one in use. Thus to cange rotor simply change the selected session.

I been working with the new owners to get some new features in the evolution of HRD Rotator (HRD 6) that will let us set an automatic rotor selection table where you would set you rotor to be used according to ;frequency ranges, radio and mode of operations, but this is still in discusion...

Also been discussing with them the implementation of DUAL-AZ (GS232B-AZ/AZ) interface support like the one available on the ERC-M from Rene DF9GR (http://www.easy-rotor-control.com/), this would also help users wih multiple rotors control them via a single interface.

both of these are still in dicussion phases and I am affraid fairly low on the totem poll...

if you have any questions feel free to contact me on hotmail...

Can I infer from your email that they currently support the AZ/EL function of the ERC-M interface controller from Rene DF9GR ?

    Thanks,

    yes, The HRD Rotator as is supports all ERC models and mode except Dual-Az;

    Thus ERC-1, ERC-3D, ERC-R and ERC-M

More specifically for the ERC-M the following protocols supported by the ERC-M are all supported in HRD-Rotator; DCU-1, DCU-1 Mod, IdiomPress, GS232A-AZ, GS232B-AZ, GS232A-AZ/EL and GS232B-AZ/EL.

Only the GS232A-AZ/AZ and GS232B-AZ/AZ is not supported by HRD Rotator at this time, but I am talking to Rick about it...

    Hope this helps
